Retail Assistant Manager – Drive Sales & Team Development

About the role

The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in driving daily sales growth, leading a retail team, and maintaining high standards of store presentation, health & safety and customer service in an Edinburgh location.

Key responsibilities

• Set realistic sales targets, lead by example and uphold professional presentation standards.
• Recruit, coach and develop team members while reviewing performance with the Area Manager.
• Drive commercial activities, manage customer data, analyse local market trends and monitor KPI performance.
• Ensure transactional compliance, enforce fraud prevention procedures and control discount usage.
• Conduct weekly store audits, follow operational procedures and manage health & safety checklists.
• Deliver exemplary customer service, resolve complaints promptly and build strong internal and external relationships.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead and develop a retail team.
• Experience in sales and commercial management within a store environment.
• Familiarity with KPI monitoring, compliance processes and health & safety standards.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers, colleagues and management.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of store presentation and customer experience.
