Retail Assistant (Part‑Time, 12 hrs/week)

About the role

Farmfoods is looking for a friendly and reliable Retail Assistant to join its Hawick store on a permanent part‑time basis. You will work a minimum of 12 hours across three days each week, covering a mix of weekdays and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome customers with a smile and help them locate products.
• Operate the tills efficiently, offering assistance with packing and ensuring a pleasant checkout experience.
• Receive deliveries, unload stock, and replenish shelves and freezers promptly.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe shop environment by following daily and weekly routines.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations.

Required profile

• A positive, hard‑working attitude and enjoyment of a busy retail environment.
• Reliability and the ability to be counted on by teammates and customers.
• Flexibility to adapt shift patterns when covering for colleagues.
• Good attendance and a willingness to learn.

Required skills

• Basic numeracy and the ability to operate a cash register/till.
• Customer‑service skills and clear communication.
• Stock handling and the ability to lift and move merchandise safely.
