Retail Sales Assistant – £12.71/hr + commission

About the role

Join Topps Tiles as a Sales Assistant (internally known as a Service Specialist) in Shipley. You’ll work in a supportive small team, helping customers visualise and realise their tile projects while earning a competitive hourly rate plus commission.

Key responsibilities

• Build long‑term relationships with trade and retail customers using a consultative sales approach.
• Ask the right questions to understand needs and recommend the best products.
• Inspire customers with colour, style, layout and design ideas.
• Drive sales through expert product knowledge and confident closing.
• Assist with stock handling, including lifting heavy boxes when required.

Required profile

• Outgoing, friendly and energetic personality.
• Willingness to work 20 hours per week, including some weekends.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items.
• No prior retail or tile experience needed – full training provided.
