Revenue Accountant

About the role

EMJ is seeking a Revenue Accountant to own the end‑to‑end revenue cycle, ensuring accurate and compliant revenue recognition across multiple systems and legal entities. You will work closely with client services and operations to track project progress and maintain financial integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile revenue data across Zoho, accepted quotes, and Asana to guarantee accuracy.
• Track projects from booking to completion, reflecting delays, cancellations, scope changes, and repurposing in all systems.
• Account for repurposed or reallocated projects and recognise revenue according to updated delivery timelines.
• Calculate and post revenue recognition based on project milestones and delivery stages, ensuring correct entity and period allocation.
• Manage multi‑entity revenue allocation and ensure compliance across legal entities.
• Own calculation and reporting of accrued and deferred income, preparing detailed project‑level listings for balance‑sheet transparency.
• Partner with Client Services as the primary finance contact for project‑related revenue queries.
• Reconcile Xero with Zoho to confirm all booked revenue is fully invoiced.
• Lead revenue forecasting, modelling, budgeting and scenario analysis using pipeline and historical data.
• Oversee invoicing and billing processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and strong controls.
• Drive process improvements, automation and AI initiatives to enhance revenue controls and audit trails.
