Revenue Controller – Finance & Billing Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Revenue Controller to join a leading international law firm’s finance team in London. The role combines revenue, credit and billing responsibilities across one of the firm’s four business divisions, supporting partners and fee‑earners.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with department heads to produce accurate monthly billing forecasts.
• Act as the first point of contact for the assigned business division.
• Generate reports and analysis of billable time and review WIP provisions monthly.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of invoices, including VAT and SAR compliance.
• Prepare credit notes and manage outstanding debts for the division.
• Proactively chase clients by phone or other communication methods to secure payments.
• Identify and escalate potential bad debts, update bad‑debt provisions and produce statements and chase letters.

Required profile

• Proven experience in revenue control, credit or billing within a professional services environment.
• Ability to work autonomously and take a proactive approach.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with partners and fee‑earners.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CMS or Elite billing systems (advantageous).
