Revenue Controller

About the role

The Revenue Controller position is newly created to strengthen billing performance and accelerate the conversion of Work in Progress (WIP) into revenue. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will help drive revenue growth, improve working capital, and embed best‑practice billing processes across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of aged WIP and drive its conversion into billed revenue.
• Monitor WIP, billing and lock‑up performance, identifying risks, trends and improvement opportunities.
• Lead regular WIP review meetings, ensuring agreed actions are tracked and delivered.
• Challenge and escalate high‑value or high‑risk balances for timely resolution.
• Promote compliance with billing policies, revenue governance standards and best‑practice processes.
• Identify revenue leakage, billing delays and process inefficiencies, recommending corrective actions.
• Produce and analyse WIP, billing and revenue reports for senior management.
• Support billing improvement initiatives, including milestone and recurring billing arrangements.
• Collaborate with Credit Control and Finance teams to improve revenue conversion and cash collection.
• Investigate root causes of WIP accumulation and support process improvement projects.
• Contribute to wider working capital and billing transformation initiatives.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a Revenue Controller, WIP Controller, Billing, Working Capital or Revenue Operations role.
• Experience within a professional services environment.
• Strong understanding of WIP management, billing processes, revenue conversion and lock‑up management.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage aged WIP balances.
• Strong analytical skills with commercial insight.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience using CCH or similar financial reporting systems.
