Revenue Manager

About the role

The Revenue Manager will lead a team of around ten revenue controllers within a leading global law firm’s London office. This senior position is responsible for overseeing billing, collections and debt recovery processes while ensuring high‑quality client service and compliance with financial regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage day‑to‑day activities of a team of revenue controllers, monitoring bill preparation volumes and invoice quality.
• Ensure timely billing and collections, supporting partners and fee earners to recover aged debt.
• Produce accurate reporting to reduce lock‑up and communicate regularly with partners and the team.
• Maintain operational continuity, providing cover during absences and stepping in for billing or collections as needed.
• Review and maintain client billing arrangements within the firm’s matter management systems.
• Identify and implement improvements to billing and collections processes, rolling out best practices across the team.
• Collaborate with partners on bill preparation, review, submission and analytical support.
• Prepare internal billing and collections forecasts and review monthly unbilled time and AR priority reports.
• Stay up‑to‑date with VAT regulations and work with finance teams to ensure compliance.
• Support onboarding of new clients and manage ongoing client communications.
• Travel to regional offices across Europe as required to build strong relationships with partners, senior lawyers and finance colleagues.

Required profile

• Proven revenue management experience within a law firm or professional services environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of revenue controllers.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills with a focus on improving cash flow.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with partners, clients and finance teams.
• Knowledge of VAT regulations and experience working with matter management or billing systems.
