Reviews Officer – Homelessness

About the role
The Reviews Officer will support a local authority in East London by carrying out statutory homelessness reviews under Section 202 of the Housing Act 1996. You will work closely with housing teams, legal services and partner agencies to ensure decisions are legally compliant.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct statutory s.202 homelessness reviews and assess housing decisions.
- Prepare clear, legally compliant review letters and reports.
- Collaborate with housing teams, legal services and partner agencies.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, guidance and statutory deadlines.
Required profile
- 2‑4 years continuous experience conducting s.202 homelessness reviews.
- Strong knowledge of Housing Act 1996 Part VII and HRA 2017.
- Experience making Part VII accommodation offers and placements.
- Previous local authority homelessness experience.
Required skills
What we offer
- Salary £30 per hour (negotiable for exceptional candidates).
- Fixed‑term contract of 4‑6 months minimum.
- Full‑time schedule: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.
