Risk Assessor – Fire & Health & Safety (Swindon/Bath/Bristol)

About the role

You will protect residents and property owners by delivering comprehensive Health & Safety and Fire Risk assessments in occupied residential environments across the Swindon, Bath and Bristol areas. Your findings will help clients meet legal duties, prioritise remedial actions and demonstrate compliance with UK regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site inspections of communal areas, plant rooms and external spaces, engaging with responsible persons and on‑site staff.
• Identify hazards, evaluate likelihood and impact, assign risk ratings and justify assessments.
• Produce clear, prioritised reports and action plans with defined ownership and timescales.
• Liaise with property managers, contractors and site staff to schedule inspections and monitor progress of remedial works.
• Verify completion and effectiveness of actions through desktop reviews and targeted re‑inspections.
• Maintain accurate digital records, photographs and compliance dashboards.

Required profile

• Methodical assessor with strong attention to detail and a resident‑first mindset.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical risk issues to non‑technical audiences.
• Professional demeanor in live residential settings, handling sensitive conversations with empathy.
• Self‑motivated, accountable for workload and capable of planning efficiently.
