Risk & Compliance Manager

About the role

This 2‑month temporary assignment supports a growing organisation during a leave of absence. You will lead the development and maintenance of the company’s risk and compliance framework, working closely with business stakeholders to embed practical, growth‑enabling controls.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with UK and US regulatory requirements and monitor legislative changes.
• Develop and maintain policies on bribery, fraud, ESG, and green‑washing compliance.
• Manage client audits, due‑diligence requests and contractual reviews.
• Own the enterprise risk management framework, risk register and remediation tracking.
• Partner with IT on cyber‑security and information‑security risk assessments.
• Act as Data Protection Officer for UK GDPR, DPA 2018, PECR and US privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA).
• Maintain privacy policies, notices, registrations and oversee cross‑border data transfers.
• Develop AI governance policies and assess AI tools against data‑protection requirements.

Required profile

• Strong experience across risk, compliance and governance functions.
• Good knowledge of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, PECR and US privacy regulations.
• Proven ability to build and manage enterprise risk frameworks and registers.
• Exposure to information‑security, cyber risk and AI governance.
• Excellent stakeholder management and commercial mindset.
