Risk & Compliance Officer

About the role

Join a fast‑paced, FCA‑regulated financial services business where risk and compliance are central to decision‑making. As a Risk & Compliance Officer you will work closely with senior leaders, shaping a strong compliance culture while ensuring customer outcomes remain paramount.

Key responsibilities

• Support compliance with FCA regulations including SYSC, PRIN, COND and ICOBS.
• Review and approve financial promotions across digital and offline channels.
• Manage Appointed Representative oversight, including monitoring and due‑diligence.
• Maintain risk registers, perform control testing and produce operational risk reports.
• Conduct compliance monitoring reviews, thematic testing and investigations of incidents or breaches.
• Draft and update policies, procedures and governance documentation.
• Provide day‑to‑day compliance advice and deliver training to embed a positive risk culture.
• Produce meaningful management information and reporting for senior management.

Required profile

• Experience within an FCA‑regulated financial services organisation.
• Solid understanding of FCA regulations such as SYSC, PRIN, COND and ICOBS.
• Background in compliance monitoring, operational risk or broader risk & compliance functions.
• Knowledge of financial promotions and/or Appointed Representative oversight is highly advantageous.
• Strong analytical and reporting abilities with excellent stakeholder management.
• Confidence to challenge constructively while building strong working relationships.
