Risk Officer – Hybrid, £48k per annum

About the role

Join the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) as a Risk Officer and help protect the financial future of millions across the UK. Working within a supportive, energetic team, you will assist Risk Managers and Risk Leads in managing operational and project‑related risks.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with risk owners to implement risk mitigation activities.
• Maintain and support the implementation of internal audit recommendations.
• Facilitate regular reviews of local and centralised risk registers.
• Manage internal audit and incident data, helping to resolve recurring themes.
• Support the maintenance and coordination of Business Continuity Plans and testing activities.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert, promoting best‑practice risk management and the 3‑Lines‑of‑Defence model.
• Provide training and mentorship to risk leads and managers during workshops.

Required profile

• Experience supporting Risk Managers and Risk Leads in a risk‑focused environment.
• Ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams and risk champions.
• Strong communication skills for risk advocacy and reporting.
