Roadside Rescue Patrol – Saffron Walden

About the role

Join The AA as a Roadside Rescue Patrol mechanic, providing fast, reliable assistance to members across the UK. You will be the friendly face that gets drivers back on the road, working independently while remaining part of a supportive team.

Key responsibilities

• Start and finish each shift from your own driveway, paid for the whole time you are in the van.
• Respond to breakdowns at varied locations and in all weather conditions.
• Use your technical knowledge to diagnose and repair vehicles on the spot.
• Communicate clearly with customers to ensure a positive experience.
• Adapt to shift patterns, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Full Category B driving licence with six points or fewer.
• Confidence using new technology and diagnostic tools.
• Flexibility to work a range of shift patterns.

Required skills

• Vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Technical troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Operation of diagnostic equipment.
