Roadside Technician – Exeter

About the role

Join the RAC as a Roadside Technician based in Exeter, helping members get back on the road quickly. You will work from home each day, travelling to local breakdown sites across the Exeter cluster to provide mechanical assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site mechanical repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support for light vehicles.
• Handle common issues such as flat batteries, tyre changes, and complex fault finding.
• Use RAC‑provided diagnostic kits and tools to identify and resolve problems efficiently.
• Maintain accurate service records and communicate status to members.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance with at least 2 years’ experience, **or** 5 years’ experience as a vehicle technician/mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 penalty points.

• Base salary £36,400 per year plus realistic OTE of £60,000–£61,000.
