Roadside Technician – Luton (Full‑time)

About the role

Join the RAC Patrol division as a Roadside Technician, providing fast, reliable automotive assistance to members across the Luton cluster. You will start and finish each day from your home, travelling to breakdown sites to diagnose and repair vehicles on the spot.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical roadside repairs, including battery replacement, tyre changes and complex fault‑finding.
• Perform vehicle diagnostics using provided tools and equipment.
• Provide emergency breakdown support to RAC members throughout the local area.
• Maintain and operate your own RAC van, fuel card, uniform and diagnostic kit.
• Record service details and ensure high levels of member satisfaction.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with at least 2 years’ experience, **or** 5 years’ experience as a vehicle technician/mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 penalty points.
