Roadside Technician – South East

About the role

Join the RAC Patrol division as a Roadside Technician, providing fast, reliable vehicle assistance across the South East of England. You will work from home each day, travelling to members in need and delivering expert mechanical and electrical support on the road.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site mechanical repairs, tyre changes, battery replacements and complex fault‑finding.
• Run vehicle diagnostics using the RAC diagnostic kit and provide accurate, timely solutions.
• Offer emergency breakdown support and reassurance to members during incidents.
• Maintain and operate a company‑provided RAC van, fuel card, uniform and tools.
• Complete demand‑led shifts averaging 40 hours per week, with optional overtime.

Required profile

• Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience in technical, electrical and diagnostic work.
• Customer‑focused attitude and strong communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
