Rotating Equipment Engineer – Gas & Steam Turbines

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Rotating Equipment Engineer to lead the asset integrity management of gas turbines, steam turbines, fuel‑gas compressors and related rotating plant equipment. Reporting to the Asset Integrity Group Lead, you will ensure long‑term reliability and compliance across our CHP & CCGT fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure fleet compliance with OEM recommendations, GENSIP guidance and industry standards.
• Provide technical advice to site maintenance teams on faults, inspections, repairs and planned outages for gas and steam turbines.
• Coordinate specialist consultants and OEMs during outage periods, supervising inspections and repairs.
• Author and update business standards and procedures for turbine and BOP integrity, including condition monitoring.
• Manage vibration analysis and condition‑based monitoring contracts for turbines and compressors.
• Drive continuous improvement of integrity processes and investigate equipment failures.
• Support development projects with design reviews, hazard studies and risk assessments.

Required profile

• BSc/MSc/MEng in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards registration (desirable).
• Proven experience in power‑plant design, construction, operation or maintenance, with a focus on gas and steam turbines.
• Strong knowledge of standards, codes and methods for turbines, exhaust systems, pressure vessels, pipework, welding and NDT.
