About the role
The ROV Senior Pilot Technician operates Remotely Operated Vehicles and associated subsea tooling in offshore environments. The role combines piloting, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure safe and efficient subsea operations.
Key responsibilities
- Operate ROVs, cameras, acoustic positioning, sonars, manipulators, LARS, hydraulic power units and complex subsea tooling.
- Pilot the ROV, evaluate environmental conditions, dock/undock from the tether management system and navigate using acoustics, sonar and visual feeds.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on electronic, electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems, including testing, calibration, alignment and corrosion control.
- Maintain and repair electrical‑over‑hydraulic control systems, pumps, valves and other hydraulic transmission equipment.
- Interface with subsea navigation equipment such as magnetic compass, gyro, transducer, sonar and altimeter.
- Integrate and operate additional tooling like cutters, pump units, multipurpose skids, dredging systems and sensory packages.
- Manage parts and supplies inventory for all electrical, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic assemblies.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED; technical/associate degree preferred.
- 12 months formal mechanical & hydraulic training plus 12 months electrical & electronics training, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to obtain a valid passport and any offshore work permits required.
- Strong analytical problem‑solving skills and ability to work safely in high‑noise, high‑humidity offshore conditions.
