About the role

The Runner supports the iQ Student Accommodation team during the busy summer turnover period, helping to prepare rooms and shared spaces for incoming guests and new students. Working on‑site in Newcastle‑upon‑Tyne, the role combines logistical assistance, basic maintenance, and customer‑facing duties to ensure a smooth transition between tenancies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with move‑in and move‑out processes, delivering cleaning supplies, bedding packs, and maintenance tools throughout the building.
• Support housekeeping by removing waste, replacing bin bags, and transporting laundry or stock between floors.
• Help set up rooms – arrange furniture, stock kitchens, make beds, and report any maintenance issues.
• Provide a friendly face for new residents and their parents on move‑in day, answering questions and giving directions.
• Work with the front‑of‑house team to ensure a smooth check‑in experience.
• Complete basic administrative tasks such as logging maintenance requests and preparing notices.
