Rust Software Engineer – Safety-Critical Systems

About the role

This position is for a software engineer who prefers to build confidence rather than just features. You will join a specialist engineering organisation that creates high‑integrity, safety‑critical software for demanding applications across sectors such as aerospace, automotive, medical devices and life sciences.

Key responsibilities

• Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, contributing to requirements, design, implementation, integration, verification and validation.
• Collaborate closely with software, systems and test engineers to ensure traceability, compliance and quality in a highly regulated environment.

Required profile

• Commercial experience developing software using Rust.
• Approximately five years of software engineering experience, including work on requirements, development and/or testing.
• Exposure to safety‑critical or highly regulated domains.
• Familiarity with standards such as IEC 61508, EN 50128, ISO 26262, DEF STAN 00‑55 or DO‑178.
• Methodical problem‑solving approach and strong focus on software quality.
• UK working rights and ability to obtain BPSS security clearance.
