Safety and Compliance Officer – Fire

About the role

Join SNG's Building Safety Team as a Safety & Compliance Officer specialising in fire safety. You will work from our Basingstoke office (or Wembley/Blandford) and enjoy a hybrid schedule that balances office and home working.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Safety and Compliance Specialist and Senior Officer on all fire safety matters.
• Deliver the Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) programme, managing internal and external partners.
• Identify, record, action and close remedial activities in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Promote a collaborative culture of building safety compliance.
• Escalate concerns to the Building Safety Compliance team as needed.
• Review fire strategies and designs to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate risk.
• Progress and record actions from fire risk assessments and recommended upgrades.

Required profile

• Proven experience meeting deadlines and achieving targets, both individually and within teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of fire safety legislation, especially within the housing sector.
• Demonstrable experience with fire safety subject matter in housing.

Required skills

• Level 3/4 qualification in Fire Safety.
• FRA qualification such as IFE or CS Todd.
• Membership of IFE, IFSM or equivalent professional body with ongoing CPD.
