Sales Assistant – Trade Counter (Braintree)

About the role

Join Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, as a Sales Assistant on the trade counter in Braintree. You will be the first point of contact for trade customers, helping them find the right products and supporting the branch’s sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Serve customers on the trade counter, identify needs and recommend suitable products.
• Handle enquiries by phone and email with a courteous, solution‑focused approach.
• Proactively seek sales opportunities with new and existing customers.
• Perform general warehouse duties: picking, packing, receiving deliveries and maintaining branch standards.
• Manually handle heavy items such as boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets safely.

Required profile

• Excellent communication skills and confidence when engaging with customers.
• Positive attitude, eagerness to learn and grow.
• Previous experience in sales or customer service is advantageous but not mandatory.
