Sales Engineer

About the role

As a Sales Engineer you will drive sales for a well‑established British manufacturer operating in the Birmingham area. You will build strong relationships with both new and existing clients, delivering tailored, technically‑focused solutions that meet their manufacturing needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and strengthen relationships with OEM and Tier 1 & 2 customers, identifying and securing new business opportunities.
• Create and deliver regional sales strategies and business plans to achieve growth within target markets.
• Manage key customer accounts, including commercial negotiations and long‑term account development.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular meetings, presentations and business reviews.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer needs to identify growth opportunities and support business planning.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support new product development and successful project delivery.
• Foster strong internal relationships across sales, engineering, operations and quality functions.

Required profile

• Experience in the manufacturing industry, particularly in a sales capacity.
• A strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to explain them to clients.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships.
• A proactive and results‑driven attitude with a focus on achieving sales targets.

• A competitive salary ranging from £50,000 to £60,000 per year, dependent on experience.
