Sales Engineer - Scotland

About the role

This is a field‑based Sales Engineer position focused on advanced metrology equipment. You will develop new business across the UK, demonstrate hardware and software solutions, and manage the full sales cycle from enquiry to closure.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new sales opportunities throughout the UK.
• Sell a portfolio that includes CMMs, portable measuring arms, scanners and laser trackers.
• Perform product demonstrations and technical presentations for prospective customers.
• Manage sales opportunities from initial contact through demonstration, negotiation and closing.
• Follow up on office‑generated and exhibition leads within your territory.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships and recommend suitable metrology solutions.
• Collaborate with technical teams to support demonstrations and address customer requirements.
• Sell accessories and associated metrology software alongside equipment.

Required profile

• Experience in metrology, dimensional inspection, measurement or technical sales.
• Good understanding of metrology equipment and its applications.
• Strong technical and commercial sales abilities.
• Confident presenter of technical products.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently in a field‑based role.
• Willingness to travel regularly throughout the UK.
• Full UK driving licence.
