Sales Ledger Clerk – Haydock

About the role

An experienced, detail‑focused Sales Ledger Clerk is needed to join a friendly finance team in Haydock. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will own the sales ledger function, ensuring invoices are raised accurately, customer accounts are kept up‑to‑date and financial records are reliable.

Key responsibilities

• Raise and process customer invoices promptly and accurately.
• Maintain and reconcile sales ledger accounts.
• Allocate customer payments and resolve discrepancies.
• Produce customer statements and handle account queries.
• Process credit notes and invoice adjustments.
• Investigate and resolve invoicing disputes.
• Liaise with customers on billing enquiries.
• Support credit control activities as required.
• Assist with month‑end reporting and ledger reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate financial documentation and provide ad‑hoc support to the wider finance team.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a Sales Ledger, Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or Accounts Receivable role.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational abilities.
• Good communication skills with confidence to liaise with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines.
• Proactive, positive approach to problem‑solving.
