Sales Ledger Clerk

About the role

The Sales Ledger Clerk will join a well‑established finance team within a respected not‑for‑profit organisation in Bolton. You will be responsible for processing sales invoices, maintaining the sales ledger and supporting the smooth flow of cash through accurate record‑keeping.

Key responsibilities

• Process and issue sales invoices accurately and promptly.
• Maintain and update the sales ledger, ensuring all entries are current and correct.
• Monitor incoming payments, follow up on overdue accounts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Prepare regular reports on sales ledger activity for the finance team.
• Assist with audit preparation and provide required documentation.
• Support the wider accounting team with ad‑hoc finance tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Experience working with sales ledgers or in a similar finance role.
• Strong organisational abilities and keen attention to detail.
• Good communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external clients.
• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems efficiently.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
