Sanctions Analyst

About the role

Harrison Holgate is seeking a Sanctions Analyst to join its Financial Crime team on a home‑based basis. This role offers the chance to work on complex international business, evaluating sanctions exposure across counterparties, jurisdictions, vessels and trade‑related activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assess sanctions risk for a range of insurance and financial products.
• Analyse counterparties, jurisdictions, vessels and trade transactions for potential sanctions exposure.
• Provide risk‑based recommendations to internal stakeholders.
• Support the development and maintenance of sanctions screening and monitoring processes.

Required profile

• Previous sanctions experience within insurance, financial services, banking or compliance.
• Strong knowledge of UK, EU and US sanctions regimes.
• Excellent analytical and investigative abilities.
• Ability to challenge stakeholders and make risk‑based decisions.
• Experience in marine, shipping, trade finance or specialty insurance is advantageous but not essential.
