SAP Principal Application Director

About the role

Capgemini is seeking a SAP Principal Application Director to lead one of the world’s largest SAP implementations for the UK public sector. You will work closely with senior decision‑makers to shape solutions that support critical national infrastructure, tax and revenue management, and drive transformation across public services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead high‑stakes architectural discussions with senior client stakeholders, translating complex operational, regulatory and platform requirements into clear design decisions.
• Chair client workshops and design authority sessions, turning requirements into actionable designs and delivery plans.
• Own solution governance and architectural integrity, defining guardrails, design principles and ensuring compliance.
• De‑risk complex integrations and define frameworks that enable scalable, performant solutions at pace.
• Build and cultivate relationships with senior stakeholders, acting as a strategic advisor and influencing outcomes that affect millions of citizens.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in SAP implementations, preferably within the public sector.
• Strong ability to engage with senior client stakeholders and influence strategic decisions.
• Track record of delivering large‑scale, complex SAP programmes on time and within scope.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid model, spending time in the London, Worthing or Telford office.
