SARC Team Leader (Swindon)

About the role

The Swindon and Wiltshire SARC Team Leader will lead the Crisis Worker Team in delivering high‑quality, responsive support to victims and survivors of sexual violence. Reporting to the SARC Team Manager, the role ensures proactive assistance throughout forensic examinations and coordinates appropriate referrals based on individual risk assessments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and line‑manage a team of crisis workers, ensuring compliance with First Light policies and forensic integrity standards.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training and supervision of staff, delivering regular training and awareness sessions.
• Maintain accurate case records, conduct audits and case debriefs, and ensure high‑quality reporting.
• Develop and strengthen multi‑agency partnerships, establishing clear referral pathways and protocols.
• Contribute to service development using client feedback and support organisational accreditations such as the Forensic Science Regulator standards.
• Provide professional advice on risk assessment, safeguarding and information‑sharing for both children and adults.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a crisis‑support or similar frontline service.
• Strong understanding of forensic medical examination processes and sexual violence support.
• Ability to manage recruitment, training, supervision and performance development.
• Excellent knowledge of risk‑management policies and safeguarding procedures.
• Experience working with multi‑agency partners and developing referral pathways.
