Satellite Assembly Integration & Test Internship (12 months)

About the role

Join the Satellite Assembly Integration & Test (AIT) team at Airbus Defence and Space in Stevenage. You will work on building and testing spacecraft for ESA and national programmes, gaining hands‑on experience from design support to launch preparation. The placement lasts 12 months and is open to undergraduate students.

Key responsibilities

• Support mechanical, electrical and software integration activities across multiple spacecraft projects.
• Visit cleanrooms, interact with engineers and technicians, and contribute to planning and debugging tasks.
• Help develop tools, forecast workload, and improve quality and execution processes.
• Act independently, promote best practices and drive continuous improvements.

Required profile

• Undergraduate enrolment for the full 12‑month placement (graduation date must be provided).
• Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Software or related) preferred.
• Demonstrated passion for creating physical or virtual projects through hobbies or extracurricular activities.
• Logical thinking, problem‑solving ability and proactive attitude.
