SC Cleared AWS DevOps Engineer – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

This 6‑month contract role is for a senior‑level DevOps Engineer with active Security Clearance (SC) to work on a high‑profile public sector platform. The position is based in Newcastle Upon Tyne with flexible onsite requirements for training and specific meetings, otherwise remote.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
• Create, optimise and support GitLab CI pipelines for continuous delivery.
• Support large‑scale, data‑heavy platforms and associated databases.
• Implement containerisation solutions with Docker and, where required, Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and provide technical guidance across the project.

Required profile

• Current, transferable Active SC Clearance.
• Proven senior‑level experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering.
• Experience working in secure, regulated environments, preferably public sector.
• Ability to work onsite for training sessions and key meetings, with the majority of work remote.
