About the role
We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud & Platform Engineer to design, build, and support secure cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise data platforms within a highly secure environment. The role requires an active SC clearance and will be based in Leeds with one day per month onsite.
Key responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain secure AWS infrastructure and networking services.
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, GitLab CI, and GitHub.
- Support big data platforms using Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR, Athena, and Redshift.
- Implement monitoring, logging, security, and compliance controls across cloud environments.
- Drive automation, containerisation, and platform resilience using Kubernetes, Python, and DevOps best practices.
Required profile
- Strong AWS experience, including VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, KMS, Lambda, EMR, Athena, and Redshift.
- Hands‑on experience with Terraform and CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Concourse, and GitHub.
- Strong Linux administration experience.
- Experience with big data technologies including Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and Amazon EMR.
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and security tools.
