Scan 4 Safety Assistant

About the role

The Scan 4 Safety Assistant will support the rapidly expanding Scan 4 Safety team across multiple sites of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. You will be responsible for managing day‑to‑day ordering, stock control and procurement activities to ensure clinical areas have the right supplies at the right time.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain service standards across key departments and wards.
• Carry out daily ordering activity on behalf of customers, following agreed protocols.
• Conduct quarterly reviews with ward leads to analyse spending patterns and agree product and stock levels.
• Maintain regular contact with customers to review stock levels and update ranges as needed.
• Assist in value‑for‑money studies, report spend and savings, and help meet cost‑saving targets.
• Receive, check, put away deliveries, rotate stock and keep store areas tidy.
• Process discrepancies, returns and credits accurately.

• Keen to learn about Scan 4 Safety and healthcare procurement.
• Methodical approach to handling information and data.
• Strong numeracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to deliver high‑quality customer service.
