School Administrator – Secondary School (Tameside)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced School Administrator to join the administrative team of a secondary school in Tameside. The role supports day‑to‑day operations, ensuring smooth communication between pupils, parents and staff during term time.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for visitors, pupils and parents.
• Answer and direct phone calls and emails professionally.
• Maintain and update pupil records using SIMS or other MIS systems.
• Support attendance monitoring and safeguarding documentation.
• Provide administrative assistance to the Senior Leadership Team and wider staff.
• Maintain a calm, organised and friendly presence in the school office.

Required profile

• Previous experience working within a school or education setting.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Proficiency in ICT systems, including SIMS.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional, organised and flexible approach to school support.
