School-Based Speech and Language Therapist

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Speech and Language Therapist to join our school‑based team in Liverpool. The role supports children and young people in developing their communication skills and improving educational outcomes, with a blend of onsite work during term time and home‑working during holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and deliver therapeutic interventions for speech, language, communication and eating/drinking difficulties.
• Design and implement individual therapy programmes tailored to each pupil’s needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, parents/carers and other professionals to support communication development.
• Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and produce detailed reports and recommendations.
• Provide training, advice and strategies to school staff for classroom support.
• Monitor progress, adapt interventions and maintain accurate records in line with professional standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
• Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) – desirable.
• Previous experience working in schools or educational settings with children and young people.
• Experience supporting a range of speech, language, communication and additional learning needs.
• Strong communication, assessment and report‑writing abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
