School Business Manager

About the role

The School Business Manager will sit on the senior leadership team of a community‑focused school in North West London. Reporting to the Headteacher, you will own the day‑to‑day operations across finance, HR, premises and administration while shaping medium‑ and long‑term strategic plans.

Key responsibilities

• Lead budget setting, financial monitoring and reporting, influencing strategic decisions.
• Oversee HR administration, safer recruitment and staffing arrangements.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and manage premises and catering facilities.
• Act as the lead for data protection and statutory policy compliance.
• Manage a small office team, developing processes and performance.
• Advise governors and senior leaders on financial and organisational matters.

Required profile

• Proven experience in school business management with depth across finance, HR and compliance.
• Confidence operating at senior level and ability to be hands‑on when required.
• Strong organisational skills, discretion and the ability to build trust quickly.
