School Business Manager – Leeds

About the role

We are looking for an experienced School Business Manager to join a thriving secondary school in Leeds for the upcoming academic year. This full‑time, fixed‑term position will start in September and will be central to the school’s financial health and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation, monitoring and reporting of the school’s annual budget.
• Lead and develop the administrative and facilities teams.
• Manage procurement, contracts and day‑to‑day facilities operations.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including DBS checks and health & safety.
• Maintain and optimise school management systems such as SIMS or Arbor.

Required profile

• Recent, proven experience working within a UK school or education setting.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., CSBM/DSBM) are desirable but equivalent hands‑on experience is acceptable.
• Current enhanced DBS registration on the UK Update Service, or willingness to undergo a DBS check.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SIMS or Arbor school management software.
• Strong budgeting and financial management capabilities.
