School Caretaker (Hounslow) – Immediate Start

About the role

We are seeking a reliable School Caretaker to join a well‑regarded secondary school in Hounslow. The role involves maintaining a safe, secure and well‑kept environment for staff and pupils, working closely with the facilities team and external contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out day‑to‑day maintenance and minor repairs across the school premises.
• Open and close the school as a keyholder, ensuring security of the building and grounds.
• Monitor heating, lighting and alarm systems, performing regular checks.
• Liaise with contractors, oversee their work and verify completion.
• Support general site upkeep and ensure health & safety compliance.
• Order equipment and supplies as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience working within a school or similar environment.
• Strong DIY and maintenance abilities.
• Reliable, proactive and able to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Valid DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Available to interview and start immediately.

What we offer

• Competitive hourly rate of £16.50‑£17.00.
• Rotating shift patterns (7 am‑3 pm or 11 am‑6 pm, Monday‑Friday).
• Temporary ongoing contract with potential for extension.
