School Catering Assistant – Part‑time (15 hrs/week)

About the role

Join HCL as a School Catering Assistant at Hill School, working 15 hours per week during term time. You will help deliver safe, nutritious meals to children while supporting a team that values safeguarding and high standards of hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, cooking and serving meals to pupils.
• Uphold food handling and hygiene standards at all times.
• Follow health and safety regulations in the kitchen and dining area.
• Receive, check and organise supplier deliveries.
• Carry out washing‑up duties and maintain a clean, hygienic environment.
• Represent HCL and reflect its values in every interaction.

Required profile

• Commitment to safeguarding children and young people.
• Food hygiene level 2 certification (preferred).
• Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of key allergens (preferred).
• Team‑player attitude with strong customer service focus.
• Reliability, punctuality and a drive to develop.
