About the role
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic School Cook to join our catering team in Brighton. You will prepare and serve nutritious meals for students while maintaining a safe, hygienic kitchen environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve healthy meals in line with school meal standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene according to food safety regulations.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Food Hygiene standards.
- Work efficiently during the scheduled hours (Monday‑Friday, 4 pm‑7 pm).
- Support the catering team without handling meal planning or ordering.
Required profile
- Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment (school catering desirable).
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced setting.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Friendly, positive attitude when working around children.
Required skills
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2).
