School Counsellor – Full‑time (5 days/week)

About the role
We are looking for a compassionate and experienced School Counsellor to join a welcoming secondary school in Southwark, London. The role is full‑time, five days a week, and focuses on supporting the emotional wellbeing of pupils.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one counselling and emotional support to students.
- Assess pupils' wellbeing and develop tailored support plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to promote positive outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with safeguarding and GDPR requirements.
- Contribute to the school’s wellbeing strategy and promote positive mental health across the community.
Required profile
- Relevant degree preferred.
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent mental health, safeguarding and therapeutic approaches.
- Demonstrated experience in a school or comparable educational setting.
- Compassionate, professional and able to work within a multidisciplinary team.
Required skills
- Valid counselling qualifications or certificates (mandatory).
