School Crossing Patrol & Sustainable Travel Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for a School Crossing Patrol & Sustainable Travel Supervisor to lead our Sustainable Travel Team in Buckinghamshire. The role is term‑time only, 32 hours per week across 39 weeks, and combines field visits to school crossing patrollers with office‑based management tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise approximately 25 school crossing patrollers across North Buckinghamshire, ensuring safe and effective service delivery.
• Visit each patroller at least once per half‑term to provide support, training and performance monitoring.
• Arrange and deliver training sessions in line with Road Safety GB guidelines.
• Manage HR processes for direct reports, including regular 1:1 meetings, coaching, and handling safety or performance issues.
• Monitor service performance, record incidents and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with the wider Sustainable Travel Team to promote car‑free school journeys.

Required profile

• Experience in supervising or managing a team, preferably in a transport or safety context.
• Good knowledge of road safety and sustainable travel initiatives.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with schools and staff.
• Flexibility to work both in the field and in an office environment.
