About the role
We are looking for a reliable Kitchen Porter to join the catering team of a busy school in South Croydon. This is a term‑time only position, offering 25 hours per week on a long‑term, ongoing basis. The role provides an opportunity to gain experience in a school kitchen environment while supporting daily food service operations.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, equipment and utensils.
- Wash dishes, trays and catering equipment promptly during and after service.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling and portioning.
- Support the catering team during service periods as required.
Required profile
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and follow instructions.
- Basic understanding of food hygiene (training can be provided).
- Enhanced DBS clearance.
