School Mental Health Assistant – Support SEND Learners

About the role
We are looking for a motivated School Mental Health Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Hemel Hempstead. The role starts in September and offers the chance to work directly with pupils who have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, autism or behavioural difficulties.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day support to pupils with SEMH, autism and behavioural challenges, helping them engage with learning and wellbeing activities.
- Deliver consistent assistance over a minimum twelve‑month period to ensure stability and continuity for vulnerable learners.
Required profile
- Recent graduate or soon‑to‑graduate in Psychology, Criminology or a related discipline with aspirations towards Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology or Occupational Therapy.
- Enthusiastic, resilient and committed to supporting children with special educational needs, even if prior experience is limited.
