School Minibus Driver – Ealing (Casual)

About the role

Ealing Community Transport (ECT) is seeking reliable drivers to provide home‑to‑school transport for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) in the Ealing area. The role is casual and involves door‑to‑door service, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey for each passenger.

Key responsibilities

• Collect passengers from their homes or designated pick‑up points and transport them safely to school and back.
• Provide assistance with boarding and alighting, including securing wheelchairs and using passenger restraints.
• Conduct pre‑trip safety checks, record vehicle defects and complete mileage and passenger paperwork.
• Communicate with the operations team via email and attend regular team meetings.
• Work flexibly within the required time windows (approximately 7 am‑9:45 am and 2:30 pm‑4:45 pm) and adapt to shift changes as needed.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence (category D1 or D1 101) with no more than six penalty points and no drink‑driving convictions.
• Minimum age of 21 years and extensive driving experience.
• Ability to interact politely and sensitively with people of diverse backgrounds, including children and vulnerable adults.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a presentable appearance.
• Physical capability to assist wheelchair users and perform manual handling tasks.

• Hourly rate of £14.80 plus statutory holiday pay.
