School Nurse – Tadworth

About the role
We are looking for a caring, confident School Nurse to join the pastoral and medical team at an independent school in Tadworth, Surrey. You will be the primary point of contact for pupils’ health and wellbeing throughout the school day.
Key responsibilities
- Provide first aid and day‑to‑day medical support to pupils.
- Administer and record medication, maintaining accurate health records.
- Document accidents and daily medical visits.
- Act as Deputy Safeguarding Lead and keep staff updated on safeguarding guidance.
- Coordinate attendance checks and support the preparation of school reports.
- Develop and update healthcare plans and school health policies.
- Liaise with parents and external health professionals as required.
- Support staff with trip medical information, first‑aid kits and basic training.
- Assist with vaccination programmes and ensure the medical room is stocked, clean and organised.
Required profile
- NMC registration (RGN, RSCN, RMN or equivalent).
- Calm, approachable and able to work independently.
- Comfortable supporting children with medical and emotional needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritise and stay organised.
- Experience in school, paediatric or safeguarding settings is a plus.
Required skills
- First aid provision.
- Medication administration and record‑keeping.
