School Nurse – Term‑time Permanent Position

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate School Nurse to join a well‑established secondary school and sixth form near Plumstead. Working term‑time only, Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, you will lead the delivery of health services that keep students safe, healthy and ready to learn.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily clinical care, health assessments and first‑aid support to students, staff and visitors.
• Develop, review and implement individual healthcare plans for pupils with ongoing or complex medical needs.
• Maintain accurate, confidential medical records and oversee medicines management.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies, accidents and urgent health concerns.
• Liaise with parents, GPs, CAMHS and other healthcare professionals.
• Support safeguarding, wellbeing initiatives and the PSHE programme.
• Promote healthy lifestyles across the school community.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Excellent clinical and communication abilities.
• Passion for supporting young people’s health and wellbeing.
• Previous experience in a school, community or paediatric setting is advantageous but not essential.
