School Wraparound Care Club Playworker (Carnforth)

About the role

This part‑time position supports a brand‑new Wraparound Care Club at a friendly primary school in Carnforth. The playworker will help create a safe, engaging and nurturing environment for children before and after the school day.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the day‑to‑day running of the breakfast and after‑school club.
• Plan and deliver age‑appropriate activities for primary‑aged children.
• Ensure the safety, wellbeing and enjoyment of all pupils attending.
• Create a positive, inclusive atmosphere for children and staff.
• Support the development and launch of this new school provision.

Required profile

• Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or an equivalent childcare qualification.
• Previous experience in a wraparound care setting, breakfast club, after‑school club, nursery, childcare or primary school environment.
• Proven ability to supervise groups of children independently.
• Proactive, organised and reliable approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
