Science Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – PRU School

About the role

We are recruiting a Science Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Morden, starting September 2026. The role supports students with SEMH, SEND and behavioural needs during science lessons, helping them engage with practical activities and achieve academic progress.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to students during science lessons.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging, hands‑on science activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Support students with social, emotional and mental health needs.
• Help manage classroom and behaviour strategies.
• Ensure health and safety compliance during practical work.

Required profile

• A science qualification, degree or relevant experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with young people.
• Confident behaviour management and resilience.
• Passion for education and supporting learners to overcome barriers.
