Science Teacher

About the role

Hays Education is partnering with a range of secondary schools across London to recruit Science Teachers for Biology, Chemistry or Physics. You will deliver engaging lessons for Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching Key Stage 5 depending on your experience and specialism. The role starts immediately and continues through the new academic year.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality Science lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
• Teach Biology, Chemistry or Physics across KS3‑KS5 as appropriate.
• Assess, monitor and report on student progress.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Contribute to departmental planning and wider school initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Proven experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting.
• Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry or Physics.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Passion for inspiring young people and raising attainment.
